the best thing about Twin Peaks is the fact that its plot is ... well, complicated! in david lynch media, every little treat and snippet and detail is important. here we have audrey in one of the bedrooms at One Eyed Jack's, a themed red room to match her white and red ensemble. This is interesting, since the Black Lodge (background image) is also entirely depicted in shades of red. Both the white on Audrey Horne's costume and the antithesis White Lodge are colors of hope, light, and safety - whereas red/black are the colors of evil throughout TP. Though the whole show is trying to tell us who killed homecoming queen Laura Palmer, that stops being the focus early on - the Black Lodge provides much more duress on the investigation than catching a killer. Subplot upon subplot weaves in and out of finding Laura's murderer, each one leading to dead ends, but more typically: a new layer of the town.
